I Love Cathay Pacific!

Thirteen hours sitting in an economy seat next to droning plane engines. Sounds like an exercise in sheer will-power-shattering-patience-building torture, no? Not so, my good friends! Cathay Pacific served two square meals on the flight, with instant noodles on demand for the duration of the flight. Not only were the meals decent (3 choices per meal), but lunch came with Haagen Dazs ice cream AND they also give you a choice of wines and other cocktails! Naturally, I ordered a red wine with my lunch. Fork-deep into my lunch, Helen casually mentions that the steward is making his way down the aisle refilling those who ordered wine. WHAT??? Refills?! A quick crane of my neck and indeed, Leo (from Indonesia) has a red and a white in his hand topping up glasses. Panicked (as he is but three rows ahead), I take a few large swigs of out of my glass so the refill counts for more (I know, I'm all class). I don't know about you, but I find this to be amazing for economy seats! Then, they did it all again at dinner time! Ongoing refills and everything! The free flowing wine, continuous feeding, and a plethora of new movies to watch on demand, truly exemplifies "The New Premier Economy." Thirteen hours almost seemed too short a flight with all of this going on. Well done, Cathay Pacific. You had me at hello.

By the way...chugging wine when it's free = you're Chinese to the core!!
