IT'S OVER!

Yes, the wedding day has finally come and gone.  Despite my reluctancy (with wedding planning, not my marriage!) the day was near perfect.  It was at times exhausting... but mostly exciting, thanks to all my friends who helped with setup, clean up and general tom-foolery.  My best men were exactly as advertised.

People kept asking me if I was nervous leading up to the ceremony.  In some cases, they just assumed I was nervous.  But truthfully, I didn't feel that way for a single moment.  In fact, during the ceremony I felt surprised that my heart wasn't beating any faster.  As the marriage commissioner read through the vows, I was actually thinking, "Man, I'm hungry!"  I stayed hungry through all of the photos that followed the rituals.  Starving, actually.  But it was really nice to see everyone enjoying the food, the company, and most guests ventured into the garden as we had hoped.  The weather was too enticing to stay inside.

All in all, it was a great day shared with family and friends.  And, as much as the wedding seemed like just a formality, I'm glad to have had the opportunity to express my commitment to my wife.  We are very happy.  This is day 1 of the rest of our lives.
